Crafty Fun! : BH Makes...

Bridget Harvey is a wonderful jewellery designer and maker.

She works mainly in reclaimed wood, textiles and silver. This practise she refers to as 'Slow Design' -objects made using sustainable materials, sustainable processes and with environmentally sound aims for the end product.

Her work is earthy yet edge, urban but with depth. It's tactile and simple. She works with wood, silver and textiles to create unusual and beautiful pieces. When I met her at Tooting Tram and Social's Christmas craft fair last year she told me how she uses wood off-cuts and traditional textile techniques to create eye catching designs and work within the slow design process.
