I was flicking through the beautifully inspiring pages of frankie magazine and came across the gorgeous work of Rachael Castle and began saving for one of her embroidered wall hangings. Her work is fun, cheerful, full of good humour and will brighten not just any room but anyones day. I strongly recommend viewing her site not only to buy her work but to turn any prospect of a frown upside down. Enjoy!
CASTLE was founded in 2008 by Rachel Castle. She began making small ranges of bedlinen for friends and family. It was loved so much and gained huge attention. CASTLE quickly became a commercial company. Rachael's brand represents her love of beautiful, mainly handcrafted or handprinted, pieces for the home.
Rachel spent the last 20 years working in the homeware industry in both Australia and abroad (both frankie magazine and the company are currently Aussie based.). Before she founded CASTLE, Rachel was a joint founder of London-based branding and design agency, The Nest, and before that, worked for The Conran Shop in the London - pretty impressive in my book! She regularly styles and writes for Australian lifestyle magazines, and currently lives in Sydney. All handmade artworks are sewn by Rachel Castle and her very patient and loving mother, Jillian Patching. -A woman after my own heart.
