Last minute wreath

I know this is not the season to be talking about Christmas wreaths and mine shall certainly be being taken down tonight, but I wanted to show you a quick, cheap and easy way to make your own wreath, which, I personally think can actually be used all year round for special events and celebrations.

All you need is:
1 x A4 Marker pad
1 x sharp scalpel
1 x Cutting Mat
1x Compass
1 x roll of double sided tape
Any decorations you feel are relevant to your event.
Be careful if you decode to use lighting as this is a flammable design. If you would like to use twinkle lights please, please check with a professional and only try low wattage battery operated versions so they do not get hot and start a fire!!!

Preparation
1. Take the back off the markerpad and place it on the cutting mat.
2. Measure 10.5cm down and across from the top left corner of the board and mark a dot.
(This is the centre of your wreath and will be cut out so don't worry if your dot is big)
3. With your compass pointer on the mark, draw a circle with your compass that goes right to the sides of your card so you can make the biggest circle possible. (This will probably have the width of 10.5cm)
4. Draw another circle from the same point, reducing your pointer to a width of 5 cm.
5. Take your scalpel and very carefully cut out the 2 circles so that you are left with a hoop.

Making Your Wreath
1. Take about 10 sheets of your marker pads paper and lay it landscape on your cutting mat. Carefully, leaving just under an inch of border around your page, score vertical stripes of different widths along.
Take your hoop and lay thin strips of double side along the outer and inner edges of the card. About 4 inches at a time.
2. Carefully take a stripped leaf of A4 and lie it 1 edge along the strip of tape on the outer edge. Fold and pleating as you go so it bend with the circled edge.
Then carefully take the other side of the leaf and dome it over the top of the hoop, creating a roof and fold, pleat and stick it to the other side. You are left with a tunnel of folds.
3. Then take a non-stripped piece of paper and scrunch it into a long sausage shape. bending it as you go.
4. Stuff the tunnel, the the dome stays plump and it hides the card backing underneath.
5&6. Continue your way around the hoop until complete.
7&8. Now garnish your wreath with your chosen decorations.
9. And Hang in your chosen spot!
