Ready, Set, Go Here!

Lino!
After a lovely lunch at Cha-ChaMoon with my wonderfully creative friend Raj I think she does more courses per week than I blink! We decided to go the hunt for a rather good art shop round the corner... many hours and clothes/vintage shops later we pass this glorious deli where Rajie got a lil' more than she bargained for from the rather friendly staff!

This Deli is a a pistachio icecream jewel in the crown of Soho's jazzhand streets. It's as beautiful on the inside as it is on the out - which is the way it should be! But if you hadn't already had your eyes drawn in by its minty, glazed tiles and 1930 signage and replica awning in its branded stripes, you'd just need to take a glimpse through the window at its Aladdins cave of luxury deli items. It was originally founded around the corner by Lina after the second world war until the business was bought by the Fillipi Family in the 1970's. Thankfully they've kept the decor as it was, (although its just gone through a facelift!).
Cans of olive oil, sardines, syryps, chutneys and biscotti adorn the fresh green shelves. Whilst opposite the long tiled counter stretches out welcoming you to buy its cheeses, breads and meats displayed behind its spotless glass. Hams drip like pink raindrops from the ceiling and the cheese can be so big they're used as tables for their window displays. Tony Fillipi makes fresh pasta everyday for local restaurants and is regularly used by the likes of Jamie Oliver and Nigella Lawson.
Its a true feast for the eyes as well as the belly!

  1. The service was a little too 'friendly' for my liking! But what an amazing shop – was fun to hang with you lady! xx
