Tooting Tram and Social

When I live in South London, there's really no other borough that appeals to me other than Wandsworth. Not only does it have the cheapest council tax in the whole of London, It's a really well run council with heaps of diversity and care in the community. I've lived in many bits of it and have spend about 3 years in and around Tooting, and the Broadway is ace. Wandering around there at 2am with all the Indian, Carribean and bangladeshi shops still open is a sensory experience and all weekend parades and annual events as well, I simply I love it!
But there is something a bit more special literally round the corner... from the tube that is... welcome to The Tooting Tram and Social.
Down a mini cobbled corridor opposite the KFC is the a string bulbed entrance to an old tram house. You walk through to huge wooden double doors and enter the biggest lounge room-come- bar. It's 75' foot ceilings and beautiful decor really hits you. Antlers mounted on quilts adorn walls. Choices of booths, leather sofas or mini tearoom styled break-out areas are all over. There are giant Italianate chandeliers hanging from the main ceiling whilst the bar is adorned with a mini eclectic and eccentric mix of shades.

Owned by Antic a pub company dedicated to taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary. Whilst always being able to get your hands on a packet of pork scratchings, they interiors are something else and they also provide is amazing entertainment with a history of ace reviews to testify. Its size is perfect for large scale events and they often have gigs on as well as swap shops and knitting clubs upstairs. The Tram House is 100m from Tooting Broadway Tube. Set over 2 main zones - a large main hall - and an upper mezzanine level on 2 levels.
See you at the bar then!
