The settlement has over fifty office / meeting spaces; halls; shops; a garden and a cafe. More than thirty voluntary and community organisations use it as a base.
They have the most gorgeous vegetarian/vegan cafe that also doubles up as a music venue. Every Monday it has open mic night and other special music nights and they also now screen movies.
Another amazing part of the settlement are their two shops. Ayoka -A vintage charity Boutique All proceeds go to the African Women's Welfare Association and is staffed entirely by volunteers.
The second is The Create Place. An amazing shop/ workshop that brings local artists, craft enthusiasts, designers, makers and complete beginners together under one roof to share ideas, learn, teach and be inspired to create. It also sells the work of local artists and designers who help take part in its running an teach the workshops.
St. Margaret's is all about community and providing for all aspects of their neighbourhood and local residents. They support the African Women's Welfare Association; Quaker Social Action; The Kipper and Providence Row Homeless Projects; The U-Turn Centre for Vulnerable Women; Tower Hamlets Friends and Neighbours; Tower Hamlets Activity in Retirement Centre; Globe Bengali Mohila Samity; Urban Youth; The Tower Hamlets Somali Association Network; the Clayton Volunteers Association and twenty other worthwhile voluntary and community groups.
Oh my goodness I want to go here! Sounds Awesome! Thanks for the review. I might join you on a monday music night!
