Who Knew
Oh yes, so after travelling around Iceland for a week and a half in a 4x4 with only 2 signor Ros CDs to listen too (Aaaarrgghhhh!) I went on a mission to find more icelandic talent... no, not Bjork. Cue Who Knew...
Reykjavik talent Who Knew (Such a talented city isn't it?)  this six-piece indie band were first conceived in 2005. Founded by their lead singer Ármann Ingvi Ármannson and backup vocalist/guitar player Baldur Helgi Snorrason. The duo would make many member changes until it was fully formed consisting of Ármann, Baldur, Snorri Eldjárn Snorrason (lead guitar), Jökull Huxley Yngvason (Bass), Jón Valur Guðmundsson (drums) and Hilmir Berg Ragnarsson (synthesizer).
They released their debut album “ Bits and pieces of a major spectacle” in 2010 by Devil Duck/101berlin. Recorded in the Sigur Rós studio “Sundlaugin” -translated 'the swimming pool and their own studio ‘’Stúdíó Skjön” -translated 'the crooked studio' -apparently named so as their building skills aren't as well buffed as their musical ones!

They're a good ol' indie rock band who will properly get your body thumping and wanting to play air guitar. With synthesizer melodies overlapping with falsetto voiced multi vocals from the whole band. They're loud, strong and fun and have been likened to Phil Spector ´s wall of sound (www.icelandmusic.is). Apparently their performances are dramatic, stage leaping music seizures and are likened to a gig with the libertines. This is one band from iceland who are not trying to be Earth Parents to their volcanoes.
